Spannocchia Sketchbook
In 2018 I joined a group from ArtShapeMammoth to visit Spannocchia, an inspirational precursor to our Rodale Farms and New Alchemy Institute. Spannochia is dedicated to closed-loop agriculture, building soil health and producing delicious food, wine and a global network of similarly-minded loyalists.
We were there to observe life at this sweet place. As observers, we soaked in Slow Life from our ancient porch; compared the green, green hills to our Vermont, to conclude that Tuscany in May, is the greener; we visited neighboring villas, any of which would be a colossal addition to Vermont’s slate of historic villages.
We were drunk on life and wine. We contemplated our sublime Earth and the labors of those, ancient and present, who cherish her.
